Almost every day Fenya brought flowers to Tchaikovsky. She spent long time gathering these flowers in meadows and picked only one type of flower each time: only chamomile, kiprey, or bedstraw. When spring entered its total power the forest at night not did not see darkness, Fenya used to sneak into to the Lipetsk estate and gather lilac. Lilac would be cold, odorous and dewy! If one would rub these magnificent branches against the face it will feel like taking a shower. Tchaikovsky would accept the flowers, raise his red face and say: ” Ekh you, grey-eyed! ” - and will definitely reciprocate Fenya with a gift. Then he will sit down at the piano and begin to play. Lilac will will tremble and dew from it will drop directly onto the piano…
