That's terrible. I thought those old growth forests were protected. I'll have to look that up for curiosity sake. Thankfully the logging industry is shrinking - I saw an article about this recently.

They are protected now more than before.
I heard a sad story about it that happened 20 years ago from my roommate in Vancouver BC. Maybe I can ask her if she will want to talk about it in the post.
